The Great Negation is an artistic project in which I have reimagined the history of the 20th century as a world in which the perception of colour has been labelled as delusional by an authoritarian leadership. In this world, there are  some who struggle to find their way out of this psycho-perceptual eclipse. I’ve created an “evidence box” of this world at Galerie Cache at 2010 Cartier, and I’ve invited interdisciplinary artist Nalo Soyini Bruce to create and direct a series of 10-minute performances from the world of The Great Negation, featuring Mel Pickering.

The exhibition consists of drawings, artifacts, photographs, a bilingual artist book that I’ve created, and an art film featuring Nalo Soyini Bruce. The original music in both the video and the performances was composed by Rob Denton.
